WeB 2.0......OVeR!!!

Hooray its over! lol Not that it was totally terrible. It was actually pretty informative. I mean I'm not at all computer saavy to begin with but I never heard of half of this stuff. Like twitter, google docs, and even that there were other wikis. I most likely wont use most of these tools again but there are some that I definitely will use in the future. I will visit craigslist again and I'm already in love with youtube. Although at times I thought this task was long and too time consuming I feel like I have been exposed to more of the web and am now better equipped to use it.

CRaiGS LiST!!

Craigs List is obviously so useful and informational. Everyone I know loves it. One posting I found interesting was for a job. I am a LPN currently working at a nursing home and its always nice to see how many other varied oppurtunities there are out there. GooGLe DoCToR

I never heard of google docs before. I mean I knew of microsoft word of course but never this. It seems like a good idea especially for people who like critiques. I personally would feel weird letting other people read my work. But overall it was easy to use.

WiKi WHat ???

I personally found this excercies interesting. I didn't know there were other "wikis" besides wikipedia. I found the library wikis easy to use as well as to navigate through. I also found them to be helpful and useful because prior to reading a book I can have someone elses opinion who already read it so I know whether it'll be worth my time. I defnitely think a wiki would be helpful in our library because patrons can read other peoples opinions and thoughts on various materials which could help with their book selection process.

NeW FeeDs

Doing this activity was sort of interesting. I think that bloglines search tool was the easiest to use. I found a couple useful feeds about American Idol and some tv spoiler feeds. But I probably wont look at any of those feeds again.

Feed Me....

I think that patrons may find the RSS feature very helpful on our website and catalog. Well that is those who are aware of how to use the feature. I kind of think the website is becoming less and less user friendly and becoming more and more complicated.

GooGLe ReaDeR

I didint really like this site. I don't see the point in it. But i did subscribe to a few diferent feeds. One feed I found interesting was the mtv feed because it gives all the latest news and gossip on stars. The llink i included is about the oh so controversial Chris Brown and Rihanna altercation.

CaTCH THe SuFFoLK WaVe

I've heard of this site before because I know alot of librarians that use it. I personally like listening to books rather than reading them. So I found this site pretty easy to use and I can see how others might enjoy it as well. I downloaded Shopaholic and Sister. It was just as good as all the other novels in that series.

FLiCKR-ooo!!!

FLickr was interesting. Its a great tool for people who love taking and sharing pictures. Alot of the pictures were cool and intriguing but my favorite was one of ...... You TuBe !!!!

Love it! I've visited this site a jillion times before and I can always find somthing hysterical to watch. Also if you miss any important moments from just about anything you can go there and view the clip again and again. MySPaCe vs. FaCebOOk

To be honest didn't even think that the library needed or had a facebook or myspace page. But after looking at and touring both I see that they provide alot of information regarding library services and programs. Personally I preferred the library's facebook page becaues it seems to be more user friendly and appealing. The myspace page was alittle dull graphically. And I see why the library would create these pages because these services appeal to various audiences , young to old. So in my opinion FACEBOOK is the WINNER !!! ( :
